Apex Marine Surveys was established by Captain Ihab Shaaban following 15 years of progressive experience in the maritime industry. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Transport, Captain Ihab served onboard multiple vessel types, advancing through senior ranks until obtaining an Unlimited Master Certificate of Competence (STCW II/2).

Transitioning ashore, he built years of solid experience in marine and cargo surveying, successfully managing hundreds of inspection and claims cases involving vessel condition surveys, warranty surveys, draft surveys, ullage surveys, cargo damage investigations, and P&I assignments. His operational background as a Master Mariner equips AMS with command-level insight into vessel systems and cargo operations, enabling the early identification of hidden risks and a thorough understanding of how ships function in practice. This practical expertise supports insurers and P&I interests with clear, defensible findings that mitigate exposure and strengthen claims assessment.

The AMS team comprises Marine Masters and chartered Chief Engineers committed to technical precision, independence, and integrity in every assignment. We deliver clear, defensible reports grounded in experience and evidence, supporting shipowners, charterers, insurers, and maritime stakeholders across Lebanon and the wider region with professionalism, fairness, and accountability.
